We are currently looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to work on software development projects as part of a development team. We are a leading UK Microsoft Partner Consultancy.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced C# Software Test Engineer, who can design and develop manual and automated tests for enterprise-level Web and Desktop applications.

You will be very experienced in automated testing tools and C# coding in Specflow and Selenium in particular. You will also be able to define test scenarios written in Gherkin syntax based on the Technical Specifications and User Stories used to define the software that is being tested.

You will be able to work confidently with developers, stakeholders and technical leads to ensure quality deliverables with pragmatic decisions. Experience and desire to drive and grow testing mentality across all areas is essential.

Essential Skills

  • Writing C# automation code within Specflow and Selenium
  • Automated and manual testing of medium and enterprise-level business web applications within an agile environment
  • Setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks
  • Able to write test scripts in Gherkin syntax based on Design specifications and Stories
  • Able to troubleshoot and investigate issues to identify whether related to environmental, configuration or coding issues

Desirable Skills

  • Able to prioritise testing workload and balance between manual smoke testing and creating and updating automation tests
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous deployment, particularly with respect to Azure DevOps and deployment pipelines. You would need to be hands-on in this area, updating tests and performing deployments to test environments.
  • Experience in volume testing
  • Defining the test strategy, plan for a portfolio of applications, test automation strategies


  • 5+ years of experience in automated testing of medium and enterprise-level business Web applications in an agile environment
  • 3+ years of experience in writing C# automation code within Specflow and Selenium
  • 3+ years of experience in writing test scripts based on Technical Specifications and Stories
