End of Support Date Announced for Xamarin

News for Xamarin developers with the announcement that Android 13 and iOS 16 are the final platform versions to be supported by Xamarin. All subsequent versions will be released straight into .NET.

Along the same lines, it was announced that Xamarin will continue to be supported only until May 1st 2024. This gives a deadline for applications to make the transition from Xamarin to .NET MAUI. However as both Android 14 and iOS 17 are due to be released in 2023, this is not an update you want to leave until the last minute.

For more information on the support timeline and roadmap of Xamarin to .NET MAUI, check out this blog by David Ortinau, Principal Product Manager, .NET MAUI at Microsoft.
