A new capability for Azure Databricks SQL is now available – Serverless SQL for Azure Databricks. This new feature is designed for business analysts to process their queries without wait time as using this capability, instant compute is provided for BI and SQL workloads. Management time is reduced and costs are lowered as Serverless SQL is only paid when users run reports or queries.
This tool is useful for analysts wanting to analyse data in the data lake on their own schedules and using their favourite BI tools – including Power BI. This should enable expanded adoption of the lakehouse for analysts.
